LONDON, UK, 7th September 2008 - The Beermat Entrepreneur will be the premier website and community for those with an idea or an aspiration for their own business. Based on proven principles, brand and content, the Beermat Entrepreneur website will combine contemporary technologies including Content Management, CRM (Customer Relationship Management), Web 2.0 and community/social networking to provide an experience that will be engaging, entertaining and valuable for the visitor.
The company has secured seed funding from a group of private investors. Terms not disclosed.
Nick Kingsbury has joined Tony Heywood and Mike Southon on the board of the company.
Mike Southon is the UK’s leading entrepreneur mentor and co-author of The Beermat Entrepreneur, which has sold over 75,000 copies in the UK, and has been followed by Sales on a Beermat, Finance on a Beermat and shortly, Marketing on a Beermat. A serial entrepreneur, he built and sold his own company in the 1980s and
worked on 17 start-ups in the 90. He has a weekly column on entrepreneurship in the Financial Times, which is read by over 600,000 people.
Tony Heywood is a serially successful senior executive in the IT space, growing and managing companies including Uniplex, Platinum Technology, Open Text and Hummingbird. He has developed technology and teams, grown the businesses, improved productivity and profitability and negotiated successful exits for the shareholders and employees.
