Nick Kingsbury
The founder, Nick Kingsbury has 30 years experience in business, of which 12 was in the role of CEO for two software companies, and 7 was as Sector Partner for the international venture capital company 3i.
Nick is an experienced international software entrepreneur and venture capitalist.
He started his career with one of the leading UK software houses before founding his own company, Software Support Limited, in the mid 1980s which grew to become a leading systems integration company for Workflow applications. Nick was CEO for 12 years. In 1996 this business merged with Staffware plc which then IPO’d on the London market. With Staffware Nick was Senior VP for International Business Development and Marketing.
In 1999 Nick joined the international venture capitalist, 3i plc, for which he was Sector Partner for the software and internet sector. His role was to develop 3i’s investment strategy and to advise on new investments. He also worked with existing investee companies with their strategic development, notably through partnership with the leading IT players worldwide. He served on the board of three 3i companies, Propero, the virtualisation company, sold to VMWare, Metastorm, the leading Business Process Management company (as observer) and the security software company Chronicle Solutions where he was also interim CEO.
Nick left 3i in 2007 and now advises a number of companies on their corporate and funding strategies. He currently serves on the boards of several private and public companies. See engagements for more information.

Emmy Botterman is an experienced senior business development professional with many years experience in the mobile and communications sectors.
After graduating she started her career with Ernst and Young in Brussels where she became a key player in the company’s association management practice. The associations included both software, technology and industrial sectors.
Her career in the mobile technology industry began in 2000 when she joined the VC backed company, Digital Rum (acquired by Velti) which provided a mobile transactional platform. Her role was in business development and she succeeded in securing pivotal deals with a number of the European mobile operators. She then moved to another mobile download platform, Mobilitec (which was acquired by Lucent) again in a European business development role.
In 2005 she moved across to the content side of the mobile industry, first as Head of Sales UK with Handson Mobile, a leading mobile games publisher and then with Playphone where she was Business Development director for Europe, responsible for annual revenue.
In 2010 Emmy joined Kingsbury Ventures to add deep mobile industry capability to the company’s offerings.
